Thank you, Philanthropy By Design, for investing your time and talent to revitalize our old office space. It is completely transformed! The office is now warm, inviting, and provides a functional layout for staff, interns, volunteers, and clients to work and meet.

"It's amazing that a space so comfortable and tranquil could also be designed (with) such efficiency. I can’t
believe this was all done (using) donated materials."

Project Highlight

This was my first project involving design students as the design team and based on its success there will be many more! The students brought an abundance of talent, skills, and enthusiasm to the job and worked effectively to solve the client’s design issues. The students loved the experience and OTTP loved the result – I think we’re onto something.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

IIDA student volunteers facilitated by PBD board member Jolene Enns, brought this project to life in a fun and productive design day with client Colleen Devine and the OTTP team. The reception, waiting and meeting area were to be redesigned. At the end of the session students presented three feasible solutions for OTTP. The client selected their favorite elements from each design for a final solution that suited them perfectly. PBD design volunteer, Serena Martin, came on board in the second phase of this project to plan and provide furniture for the clients' private offices. PBD coordinated donations of new carpet, base, and installation, new paint, furniture, discounted countertops and shelves, and great volunteers to pull it all together.
